Enriching Our Culture with Quality Work that Reflects Godly Purpose

All of life is an art lived before our Maker and His Son Jesus Christ and empowered by His Holy Spirit. The way an entrepreneur conducts his business or a mother orders the affairs of her home are art forms as valid and valuable in their expression as the work of the most profound poet. They are elements of the whole creative process of bringing the kingdom of God to bear on a broken world.

God is the great Creator. He has given man the ability to create with his mind and body. Christians historically have been, and should always be, the most creative people on earth. The need should be acutely clear in an age when there is more leisure time than ever before. And little of the arts and entertainment that receives much exposure today represents or intimates the kingdom of heaven. Our call should be clear

The LCA does not promote an artistic elite but the art of living. It is revival with a worldview, eternal purpose, and ultimate intention. Every child of God, whether laborer, dancer, housewife, or business person, has something unique to give his or her family, church, social environment, and sphere of influence. That is the creative spark and energy in Christ the LCA strives to ignite at every level.

A vision to motivate and equip Christian artists came to Terry and Esa Everroad in 1993 They saw the need for a vehicle for creative Christians from every discipline, interest, and background to become more productive and more connected. Most artists have an appreciation for, and, in many instances, talent in many different areas besides the one they may be most familiar with and trained for. The creative impulse extends to related fields or to every area of life.

Many artists feel isolated from each other and alienated not only from the rest of society and secular artists, but also from the church itself. Because of these particular obstacles, the Everroads’ desire was to create a faith-based community of creative Christians through the internet and the League of Christian Artists was born.

The central theme of the LCA is for members to be mutually supportive and to inspire each other to greater productivity and increased sensibility in the face of a secular world groveling in despair and a church world groping for its own identity. Sometimes artists, by virtue of their divine gifting and spiritual perception can be intrinsically prophetic, that is, ahead of their time. In an age where more creative product is being consumed than at any other time in history, who better to speak into the marketplace than those who are moved by the Master’s hand?

The League of Christian Artists is a mission of Everroad Family Ministries, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation since 1983. Contributions are tax deductible.
